Connecting your assistant
Add AgentRunCoach to ChatGPT or Claude, sign in, and know how to reconnect or switch assistants without losing your training.
You connect from the assistant you want to coach with, then sign in and approve access to your training account.
Connecting ChatGPT
AgentRunCoach is an approved plugin in ChatGPT’s Plugins directory. This works in ChatGPT on the web, the desktop app and the mobile app.
- Go to the AgentRunCoach plugin in ChatGPT’s Plugins directory, or in the ChatGPT app, open Plugins and search for AgentRunCoach.
- Select Install plugin and follow the steps to connect.
Once it is connected, start a new conversation. ChatGPT uses AgentRunCoach when your question needs it, or type @AgentRunCoach to choose it yourself.
Connecting Claude
Claude adds AgentRunCoach as a custom connector from its address. This works in Claude on the web, the desktop app and the mobile app.
Claude address
https://api.agentruncoach.com/mcp - Open Settings → Connectors.
- Select +, then Add custom connector.
- Name it AgentRunCoach and use the address above for the URL.
- Select Add, then sign in to AgentRunCoach and approve the permission screen.
After setup in either assistant, return to AgentRunCoach onboarding and verify the connection.
Troubleshooting
If verify can’t see your connection
- ChatGPT: check that AgentRunCoach is listed under Installed in Plugins.
- Claude: a free Claude plan allows one custom connector. If you already have another one, remove it first.
When you connect to AgentRunCoach, make sure you’re connecting as the account you expect. The approval screen names it. If it’s not the right one, select Not you? Use a different account and sign in again.
If AgentRunCoach is missing from ChatGPT’s Plugins
In a ChatGPT work or school workspace, your admin decides which plugins members can use. Ask them to allow AgentRunCoach.
Added AgentRunCoach with Create MCP App?
Before AgentRunCoach was in ChatGPT’s Plugins directory, you made the connection yourself with Add → Create MCP App. That connection still works, and you don’t need to change it.
To switch to the directory plugin, open Plugins, select the AgentRunCoach you created under Installed and remove it. Then install AgentRunCoach from the directory as above and sign in again. Your plan, activities and coaching history stay in AgentRunCoach.
Reconnecting when coaching data is missing
First check that AgentRunCoach is enabled in the conversation. Then reconnect:
- ChatGPT: open Plugins (the left sidebar on the web, Customize on desktop) and select AgentRunCoach under Installed. Under Connected accounts, select Reconnect next to your account.
- Claude: open Settings → Connectors, then disconnect and reconnect AgentRunCoach.
Removing AgentRunCoach from your assistant takes away that assistant’s permission. It does not delete your plan, activities or coaching history, or touch Strava.
Your assistant is not the system of record
Your training lives in AgentRunCoach. You can connect both assistants or switch your preferred one in AgentRunCoach Settings without moving your data.
What the permission allows
Connecting lets your assistant request the parts of your account needed for the conversation and ask AgentRunCoach to take an action for you. The assistant still follows its own memory, privacy and workspace rules. AgentRunCoach does not store the transcript of that conversation.
Ask your coach
“Help me connect AgentRunCoach to ChatGPT.”
“How do I add AgentRunCoach to Claude?”
“I changed assistants. Is all my training still here?”
